Bulletin Board Service (BBS)



General BBS Information
The BBS offers a wide variety of files, including: hardware drivers and utilities, software updates, and virus detection software. Technical support is also available on the BBS via Email. All messages posted Sunday through Thursday are responded to within 24 hours, while messages posted Friday or Saturday will be responded to on the following Monday. Return authorization numbers cannot be issued via Email. If you have any comments, please leave a message in the "Talk to the President" area.

Logging On To The BBS For The First Time

  1. Enter your first name when prompted.
  2. Enter your last name when prompted.
  3. When the "Is your name spelled correctly?" prompt appears, type "Y" for YES or "N" for NO and steps 1-2 will be repeated.
  4. When prompted for a password, enter a word that you can easily remember and write it down so you can reference it in the future.

    NOTE: If you forget your password, contact our Customer Service at (800) 728-8584 to have your password changed.

  5. You will be prompted for the password again. Enter the password for verification.
  6. You will then be asked "Have you ever purchased an item from us?" Enter your answer.
  7. You will then be asked "Are your a Dealer, VAR, Reseller, etc." Enter "N" for "No, I'm an End-User."
  8. You will then be asked "Are you sure?" If you have entered everything correctly, type "Y." If not, enter "N" and steps 6-7 will be repeated.
  9. Enter your customer number when prompted.
  10. Enter your company name when prompted. If you do not have a company name, press the [ENTER] key.
  11. Enter your street address, city, state, zip code, and country when prompted.
  12. Enter your day time phone number when prompted.
  13. If the number was typed correctly, answer "Y" to "Is it really your number?" If not, answer "N" to repeat steps 12-13.
  14. Enter your date of birth (Month/Day/Year) when prompted. Use two digits for each entry (For example: 01/09/70.)
  15. If the date was typed correctly, answer "Y" to "Is it really your DOB?" If not, answer "N" to repeat steps 14-15.
  16. You are now logged onto the BBS database.

In the future, you will only be required to enter your first name, last name, and password to gain access to the BBS.


Downloading A File From The BBS

  1. Log on to the BBS.
  2. When the main menu appears, enter "F" for the File menu.
  3. When the File menu appears, enter "D" to download a file.
  4. Enter the filename(s) of the file(s) you wish to download. Press the [ENTER] key after typing each filename.
  5. When you have typed in all the filenames, press the [ENTER] key to continue.
  6. When the "Do you wish to automatically logoff when done?" prompt appears, press the [ENTER] key. Type "Y" to automatically log off or "N" to remain on-line after the download.
  7. Select the protocol your communication package supports and press the [ENTER] key. If your package supports Zmodem, select it as the protocol.
  8. Once the file(s) has been downloaded, you will automatically be logged off the BBS or returned to the File menu, depending on your selection in step 8.
