SYMPTOMS

The backup driver diskettes have not been created. The Master Disk Creator program has been lost or deleted


CAUSE

Microsoft® Windows 95® has been deleted and reinstalled


RESOLUTION

Follow the steps below to create the driver diskettes from the "Images" directory of Windows 95.

  1. From the Windows 95 desktop screen, click on the "Start" button.
  2. Highlight "Programs."
  3. Click on "Windows Explorer."
  4. From the "Windows Explorer" windows, click on "View."
  5. Select "Options".
  6. Select "Show all files."
  7. Make sure that "Hide MS-DOS extensions" is not selected.
  8. Click on the "OK" button.
  9. Press the [F5] key to refresh the screen.
  10. Click on the "[C:]" in the left window.
  11. The "Images" directory should now be visible in Windows Explorer.

This directory will contain DOS batch files that will create the needed driver disks. Double-click on the batch file that corresponds to the device for which the driver diskettes need to be created.
