SYMPTOMS
Microsoft^® Windows^® NT Event Viewer may list one of the following Event Codes:

• Clean Shutdown Event (Event ID: 6006)
• Dirty Shutdown Event (Event ID: 6008)
• System Version Event (Event ID: 6009)

CAUSE
These are new Event Codes added by Service Pack 4.

RESOLUTION
These three Event Codes are information messages only and are meant to detail how the operating system runs. They are not error messages pose no threat to system performance or operation. They may, however, be helpful in determining the cause of other Event Codes which detail a specific error message. Refer to section 3.13 of the article for detailed information on these Event Codes.
