SYMPTOMS
The following error message appears when Microsoft^® Windows^® 95 or 98 is started.

VMM32.VXD: Missing/Unable to Load. Press any key to continue.

You are prompted to shut down Windows.

CAUSE
You have an Intel^® Pentium^® II 300MHz or higher processor (may also include AMD K6-2 3D processors) and have installed a Umax scanner. The Umax scanner includes or references a file that is causing the error to occur.

RESOLUTION

A patch file must be downloaded directly from Umax's website.
