Ultra Video Graphics Array (UVGA)
It refers to 1024x768 resolution.

uniformity
Comparison of one areas phosphor color and brightness to an adjacent area. In general, the brightest part of the image will be in the center area. When moving out to the edges, the intensity of image will vary in a non-linear function. This means that one corner of the screen will not be the same brightness as another corner or the screen. A typical CRT manufacturers specification may call for up to a 30% difference between the center area and the corners.

Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS)
A series of batteries through which the main supply is passed. Should the main supply fail, the batteries ensure continuity of power to the computer for a short time, allowing the computer to shut down in an organized way and avoiding corrupted or incomplete data files.

upgrade
As a verb, to change to a new, usually more powerful version—for example, to upgrade a computer system with a faster and larger hard disk or to upgrade to a newer or more sophisticated version of a software product. As a noun, the new or enhanced version of a product. With hardware, especially in the case of one or more pieces intended to replace or supplement existing pieces, an upgrade is generally called an upgrade kit.

uploading
The process of transferring data from one PC to another. Uploading sends data from your PC to another.
